Worry About Money
Words and Music - Randy Stonehill

Well the morning’s sweet and the sky is sunny
Let’s jump out of bed and worry ‘bout money
Money to spend money to save
Money to buy yourself a pretty little grave
If it weren’t so sad it might be funny
The world’s gone mad worrying about money

The rich young ruler in Jesus’ day said, “I wanna to get to Heaven you show me the way.”
Jesus gazed at him lovingly, said, “Sell all you have, come follow Me.”
The rich man sadly hung his head he couldn’t bear to hear what the Savior said
Here’s a question think it through, do you own money or does it own you

Birds make nests bees make honey
We make a mess worrying about money
Money can bless money can kill
It’s the love of money that’s a poison pill
Now God’s a giver and He’s got plenty
Never wastes a minute worryin’ ‘bout money

Now don’t go thinking that I’m naive
Money is a thing that we all need
It can serve you well but for Heaven’s sake
it’s always been the frosting never been the cake
God owns the cattle on a thousand hills
He’ll sell one for you if you do His will
He made the lily He made the rose
Finer than Solomon’s Sunday clothes

But we hurry and scurry like a scared little bunny
Tearing out our hare/hair worrying ‘bout money

I don’t know why they call it wealth
It can’t buy time and it can’t buy health
Can’t buy you ticket into Kingdom Come
It’s as dead as the paper that they make it from
Can’t buy true love or a faithful friend
We keep fishin’ that wishin’ well again and again

Well I hope I live ’til I’m a hundred and twenty
But when I die I’ll be dancing on money
Money that shines money that’s gold
Money’s only pavement on Heaven’s road
If it weren’t so sad it might be funny
The world’s gone mad worryin’ about money
