But it taught me what forgiveness really means
This old face has tasted dust of broken dreams

God’s faithfulness that time cannot erase

It’s history reminds me of his grace

I’ve watched it slowly changing through the years
From the laugh lines and the salty stain of tears
It’s been weathered by the wind of sadness and of sin
But it shines whenever Heaven’s love appears
