Ooh. Whoa, Oh yeah. We must trust the hands that we cannot see, that's how we become who we're born to be, A faith made pure, like a cross of gold, here in a dying world that's the only thing we can ever hold. A promise made is a promise kept, There is a love so true, Just hold on; God is holding on to you, Day by day, prayer by prayer, Oh, don't you ever forget that a promise made is a promise kept. Yeah, Ooh, Oh yeah. Through the waiting years and the tears we've cried, If our dreams come true or remain denied, the greatest gift, far beyond compare, is to realise when we call on God we will find him there. Because a promise made is a promise kept, There is a love so true, a love so true, Just hold on; God is holding on to you, ooh, Day by day, prayer by prayer, Oh, don't you ever forget that a promise made, it's a promise kept. And God isn't sleeping, Oh, you know that he isn't blind, And our prayers will be answered in his own way, in his own time, yeah. Promise kept, It's a promise kept, Just hold on; God is holding on to you, ooh, Day by day, prayer by prayer, No, don't you ever forget that a promise made, yeah, it's a promise kept. That's right, Alright, Don't you know it's a promise kept? Oh yeah, It's a promise made, Don't you ever forget, Ooh, ooh, ooh, Oh, don't you know it's a promise kept now? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, Oh, Oh yeah. A promise made is a promise kept, A promise made is a promise kept, A promise made is a promise kept, Don't you ever forget, yeah, yeah, yeah, A promise made is a promise kept, (etc, fade)

There is a window in my attic where I have gone so many times, Sending my prayers up, like a letter written across a paper sky, But as the days turn into seasons and the seasons turn to years, I am speaking less and learning how to hear. And I turn to you, like the night turns into morning, I turn to you when I feel like trouble's knocking at my door, I turn to you, and through all the years, you've never turned away, (never turned away) And I am always turning back to you. All of the times when I was foolish, I've only got myself to blame, Oh, I have tangoed with temptation, just like a moth drawn to the flame, And, as I've sifted through these ashes, there is one thing I have learned: your healing touch is there when I get burned. And I turn to you, like the night turns into morning, I turn to you when I feel like trouble's knocking at my door, I turn to you, and through all the years, you've never turned away, (never turned away) And I am always turning back to you. Yeah, I turn to you, like the night turns into morning, I turn to you when I feel like trouble's knocking at my door, I turn to you, and through all the years, you've never turned away, And I am always turning back, I am always turning back, I am always turning back to you. Yeah.

In Jesus' name some have built their glass cathedrals, In his name others sacrificed their lives, Some may say too few of us obey, oh yeah, in this work we're meant to do: to live a life that's true. Still, I see that shining light, like a flame against the dark, It's the holy love of God burning in our hearts, And this lost and lonely world will never be the same because of what we do, oh, in Jesus' name. In Jesus' name some have fought for foolish causes, In his name others trust the power of peace, If only he was all the world could see, oh yeah, they would clamour at our door, find the life they hunger for. But, I see that shining light, like a flame against the dark, It's the holy love of God burning in our hearts, And this lost and lonely world, it will never be the same, oh no, because of what we do, all in Jesus' name. Yeah. Mercy is a miracle by which we stand, yeah, Mercy that comes pouring down through nail-scarred hands, Mercy pouring down through nail-scarred hands, yeah. And I see that shining light, like a flame against the dark, It's the holy love of God burning in our hearts, And I know this lonely world will never be the same because of what we do, oh, in Jesus' name, yeah, All because of what we do, oh, in Jesus' name. Yeah, yeah.

I have a secret I can't tell, and I've learned to conceal it well... Under the rug. I have a secret I can't tell, and I've learned to conceal it well, Ah, but this disturbing smell keeps coming from the carpet, (under the rug) That's where the old ghosts hide away, down in the darkness and decay, I work so hard to make them stay down beneath the floorboards. (under the rug) Oh, I needed the perfect plan, but it's all gotten out of hand, I keep my head in the sand now, It's so scary under the rug. "Bury your sins and they won't survive, " I told myself 'til the big surprise, Down in the dirt that’s where they thrive, like little poison toadstools, Under the rug, It's the thing in Pandora's box, biting through all the chains and locks, Now the whole house is rocking, It's so scary under the rug, (so scary) It's so hairy under the rug, (under the rug) It's so scary under the rug. Skeletons dance, and I fear they might rattle their bones in the broad daylight, Oh, yeah. So I wear a poker face; I close all the curtains just in case, But something lurks in the crawling space, pointing bony fingers, (under the rug) I hear the ticking of my telltale heart, like a bomb set to blow my world apart, I wish that guilt would make us smart, but I'm sweeping all this garbage... I have a secret I can't tell, and I've learned to conceal it well, Under the rug.

Heaven help me, Spirit and the flesh, A lonely star that's falling, Lord, you found me, still I lose myself with all these voices calling, calling, But I long to dream your dream: the special one you've kept for me, How I long to live my destiny. No matter what I say or do, remember, remember, No matter how I run from you, remember my name. Won't you remember? I'm shadow boxing the phantom of my will, I'm frightened by its turning, oh, oh, yeah, And wild horses thunder through my heart, A thousand passions burning, burning, Still I long to dream your dream: the special one you've kept for me, Won't you touch my eyes, let me see? No matter what I say or do, remember, remember, No matter how I run from you, remember my name. Let the wind of Heaven blow, Let it cut right through my soul, Make me clean, make me whole. Well, no matter what I say or do, remember, remember, No matter how I run from you, remember my name. Tell me my you remember, remember, No matter how I run from you, remember my name, Oh, tell me you remember, remember, Oh yeah, tell me you remember my name, Oh Lord, tell me you remember. Just remember, remember my name, Yeah, remember my name.

That's why...that's why we don't love God, Although our lips feign praise, still our hearts are far away, That's why...that's why we don't love God, We're so consumed with self we can't love anybody else, no, no. We mask the nakedness of our mortality, cloaked in this poison pride and the illusion of control, We need the gift of grace more than the air we breath, but as it draws us near...still it repels our stubborn souls. That's why...that's why we don't love God, Oh yes, our lips feign praise, but our hearts are far away, That's why, that's why we don't love God, I don't want my prayers to be some meaningless litany, yeah. Why are we so afraid, guarded and counterfeit? Is it because we know all the shadows we conceal? And we are so alone - wolves in the winter snow, Never imagining that this mercy could be real. That's why...that's why we don't love God, Although our lips feign praise, our hearts are far away, yeah, That's why...that's why we don't love God, When we're consumed with self, we can't love anybody else. Yeah, oh. We say, "We need a little help; we need some new direction," Yeah, avoid the blessing like a curse, We're only lying to ourselves - what we need is resurrection, What we need is second birth. That's why...that's why we don't love, That's why...that's why we don't love, That's why...that's why we don't love, That's why...that's why we don't love God. Oh, no, We don't love God.

When I'm afraid and worried for the times ahead, And nothing that I do makes my heart feel warm, When I'm afraid, and all the mistakes I've made are pulling me down, They can surround me like a storm, When I'm afraid, When I'm afraid, (when I'm afraid) When I'm afraid, I wish that I could run away And just find a place to hide for a little while, When I'm afraid, I'll think about the things You've said, They echo inside, comfort me like a little child. I just close my eyes, say a little prayer in the night 'til the morning comes to bring a golden day, When I'm afraid, When I'm afraid, When I'm afraid. When the world comes crashing in and I feel so small, You remind me I'm not alone after all. When I'm afraid, I think about the things you've said, They echo inside, comfort me like a little child. Lord, I look to You and You send me a love that's true, Like the silver rain to wash my tears away when I'm afraid, (when I'm afraid) When I'm afraid, Oh, when I'm afraid, When I'm afraid, Oh, when I'm afraid.

Shadow Man 03:34
Looking in the mirror, and I realise I'm not sure who's living there behind my eyes, A stranger that I haven't met, just a dodgy silhouette, Stumbling through the wreckage of my pretty plans, Throwing cups of water to a drowning man, I can't shake the way this feels, like I'm stalled on spinning wheels. Shadow man, shadow man - just a hint of who I am, I need some clue to understand - shadow man. Swimming at the bottom of the wishing well, I think I can't remember if I dove or fell, Every penny is some kid's dream, Every story has the same old theme, Knights in armour searching for the holy grail, I've run so many circles that I found my tail, Trying to put a face to a name, Does anybody know the rules of the game? For shadow man, shadow man - just a hint of who I am, I need some clue to understand - shadow man, Shadow man, shadow man, with a candle in your hand, Trace your steps back if you can, shadow man, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, (in the shadow) Yeah, yeah, yeah, Yeah, yeah, yeah, Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm the shadow man. For shadow man, shadow man - just a hint of who I am, Need some clue to understand - shadow man, Shadow man, shadow man, trace your steps back if you can, Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh. Shadow man - caught in the rain, like a moth that's lost its flame, With no place to cast the blame, Shadow man, yeah, yeah, yeah, Shadow man, ooh, I'm the shadow man. I just can't help it.

There I was in Zurich, in the snow, with a hideous blue runny nose, looking for potato.

Troubles 03:22
Troubles, troubles - everyone has them, you know, Troubles, troubles - don't they come falling like snow? Now, don't you lose hope in the harder times, never lose sight of your dreams, Troubles are shadows, they're never as large as they seem. (troubles are shadows, they're never as large as they seem) Troubles, troubles - weighing you down like a stone, oh, Troubles, troubles - can't solve them all on your own, You worry too much and they'll rob you blind, steal all your laughter away, Troubles should teach us to walk on in faith, come what may. Life is a treasure from Heaven, a grand lucky seven, It's such a blessing to be here at all, So embrace it with gladness, for even in sadness an angel's beside you, oh. Troubles, troubles - we all have heartache and pain, Troubles, troubles - don't waste your breath to complain, Look over your shoulder through all the years, I think you'll agree when I say: for all of our troubles we're older and wiser today, (for all of our troubles we're older and wiser) For all of our troubles we're older and wiser today, (troubles, troubles) Yeah, troubles. (troubles, troubles)

Clinging to this telescope, scanning the horizon, Stranded in my little boat on the sea of dreams, Running out of time and hope, searching for an island, Finding every cruel mirage is never what is seems. Then I sailed to the end of the world, And I saw your face, your wonderful face. And that's when you called to my Lazarus heart, You rescued my Lazarus heart, Called to this Lazarus heart, "Rise again, rise again." Drifting through this veil of mist, blinding and relentless, Trying to understand the secret language of my soul, Forces in me turn and twist, raging like a tempest, Doubt and fear wash over me like waves that rise and roll. Then I sailed to the edge of the world, And I saw your face, your wonderful face. And I heard you call to my Lazarus heart, You rescued my Lazarus heart, Called to this Lazarus heart, "Rise again, rise again." Suddenly the bells were ringing everywhere, Angels filled the air like shooting stars across the sky, Then I knew forever who you are, and tears of joy fell from my eyes. You rescued my Lazarus heart, oh, You called to my Lazarus heart, yeah, You rescued my Lazarus heart, ooh, Called to my Lazarus heart.
